Job summary

Georges River Council is seeking a Library Officer – Children & Youth to deliver engaging programs for children, young people and families across the Georges River community. Based at Clive James Library, Kogarah, with flexibility to work across other branch locations, you will develop early literacy activities, school visits and outreach.

You will hold a TAFE Diploma in Library and Information Science and have strong customer-service and communication skills, plus a creative approach to program

Qualifications

• TAFE Diploma in Library and Information Science or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience in library services and delivering engaging programs.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage children, families and schools.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and promote library services and programs for children and youth.
• Plan, develop and deliver events for early literacy, school visits and outreach.
• Build relationships with schools, preschools and community groups.
• Provide exceptional customer service across all service points.
• Collaborate with colleagues to create welcoming and inclusive library environments.
• Collect and report program data to support continuous improvement.
