About the position:

The YNLHN Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) started in 2019 and was one of the first MGP models in regional South Australia. The network includes 5 birthing suites and handles approximately 540 births annually, caring for up to 700 women.

The network is committed to progressive, innovative care for women in the MGP program, encouraging midwives to practice within their scope, pursue endorsement and credentialing, seek leadership roles, specialize in women’s health, and engage in ongoing professional development to continuously improve their skills.

About you:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse and/or Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold a current practicing certificate.
  • Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience is preferred.
  • Have experience or wish to gain experience in Midwifery Group Practice or continuity care models.
  • Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
  • Effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in the supervision of assistants in midwifery, student midwives, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.
