Job summary

The University of Tasmania seeks a Year 3 General Practice Coordinator to provide academic and clinical leadership for General Practice placements in the Hobart Clinical School. You will coordinate placements, support students and GP supervisors, and work with the Tasmanian School of Medicine to drive teaching, research and development in general practice education.

Qualifications

• Must hold medical qualification and be registered as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Fellowship of RACGP or ACRRM, or equivalent qualifications, is required.
• Demonstrated experience in medical education, teaching or supervising medical students or trainees.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex placement matters.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic and clinical leadership for Year 3 General Practice placements.
• Develop and sustain relationships with general practices to expand placement opportunities.
• Coordinate placements, timetables, teaching and assessment within required timeframes.
• Contribute to scholarly teaching, research and assessment across the Medicine Program.
• Supervise MD research projects in general practice and primary care where appropriate.
