Job summary

Brisbane Catholic Education is seeking a Year 1 Primary Teacher at St Columba's Primary School, Wilston, on a maternity leave contract through to the end of Term 3 (January 2027 – September 2027). The role offers a 30-hour work week and a salary between $86,601 and $124,725 plus 12.75% superannuation, with full-time fixed-term status.

Eligibility to work in Australia and current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers are required.

• Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers.

Responsibilities

• Create a nurturing, learner-centred classroom aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
• Develop and implement quality curriculum programs and pedagogy; assess and report student progress.
• Collaborate with leadership team, teachers and staff to foster a positive school culture.
• Engage in professional learning to enhance student outcomes.
• Establish positive pastoral care relationships supporting students’ development.
• Ensure Catholic teachings and values underpin learning and teaching.
