Job summary

Onsite Rental Group is a national specialist equipment hire business with 30+ years of experience across mining, construction and government sectors. We are seeking a hands-on trades assistant to perform cleaning, basic repairs, and refurbishment work on portable buildings.

The role offers a full-time permanent position with a daylight roster and on-site parking, supporting a safe and productive work environment.

Qualifications

• Current drivers licence and reliable transport.
• Handyman experience with power tools desirable.
• Cleaning or labouring experience relevant to portables.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team.
• High regard for workplace safety and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Clean portable buildings, including toilet blocks, using supplied equipment.
• Complete basic repairs and maintenance on portable buildings: flooring, doors, locks, walls, and fixtures.
• Securely pack furniture and belongings for transport.
• Undertake general housekeeping and yard duties to maintain a safe and tidy site.
• Assist qualified trades with refurbishments and upgrades as required.

Job Description

About the role: Reporting to the Team Leader, your role will be to:

• Dedicated benefits to support your physical, mental, and financial wellbeing
• Clean portable buildings, including portable toilet blocks using equipment and supplies provided
• Complete basis repair & maintenance tasks on portable buildings, including toilet blocks; repair & seal flooring, replace trim, paint and patch walls, basic plumbing, replace doors & locks etc.
• Securely pack furniture & accessories in portables buildings for transport including tables, chairs, desks, fridges, microwaves etc.
• Undertake general housekeeping and yard duties to ensure a safe, clean and well organised work environment.
• Assisting qualified trades with portable building refurbishments and upgrades where necessary.

We are looking for someone with relevant transferable skills, a positive attitude and capacity for hands on, physical work. Our ideal candidate will have:
