Job summary

Visy Pulp & Paper in Coolaroo, Victoria, is seeking a safety-focused Yard Operator to support recycling operations, manage material movements and help run the site efficiently. This permanent full-time role features a 12-hour rotating roster (days and nights) with extended time off and scheduled leave every 8 weeks.

You will load materials, supervise traffic, operate forklift with grab attachment, and maintain equipment and housekeeping.

Qualifications

• Forklift license with grab attachment experience.
• Front End Loader/Skid Steer experience desirable.
• Past experience in recycling, production or manufacturing environment.
• Able to work autonomously and provide guidance to others.
• Ability to work a rotating roster of days and nights.

Responsibilities

• Load raw recycled material into conveyors to support production needs.
• Manage safety practices of the Yard including traffic management and contractor supervision.
• Load and unload deliveries from internal and external parties.
• Operate forklift with grab attachment safely.
• Ensure equipment is maintained and housekeeping is high.
• Review work processes and identify improvements.

Role Details:

At Visy Pulp & Paper, we're powering the circular economy by transforming recycled materials into high-quality paper products. We're looking for a safety-focused Yard Operator to support our recycling operations, manage material movements, and contribute to the efficient running of our site.

What you'll do:

Reporting to the Production manager your key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Loading raw recycled material into conveyors and ensuring consistent output with production needs
• Manage the safety practices of the Yard including traffic management, contractor supervision, etc.
• Load and unload deliveries of materials from internal and external parties
• Operating forklift with a grab attachment safely
• Ensuring equipment is correctly maintained and maintenance is performed regularly.
• Maintain safe work and operating practices, and a high level of housekeeping at all times.
• Regularly review work processes and assist in identifying improvements.

What You Will Bring:

• Forklift license with grab attachment experience
• Front End Loader/Skid steer experience highly desirable
• Prior experience in a recycling, production or manufacturing environment
• Able to work autonomously and provide guidance to others
• Ability to work a rotating roster of days and nights (every 7 cycles get 2 weeks off)
