Job summary

MOCO Food Services is seeking a reliable Yard Hand to join our Transport team at Wacol, Brisbane. You’ll refuel, clean and prepare trucks for the next shift, keeping our fleet in top condition and ready to roll.

You'll work a 4-day roster with a late start (10am–8pm) and join a dynamic Despatch department that values safety, efficiency and collaboration with drivers and other teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in yard hand, transport, fleet prep, vehicle cleaning or warehouse.
• Experience with refuelling, cleaning equipment and basic fleet preparation.
• Able to undertake physically demanding duties including manual handling.
• Strong organisational skills, time management and attention to detail.
• Understanding of workplace safety, hazard identification and vehicle defect reporting.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Flexible roster tailored on an individual basis to meet lifestyle needs.
• Uniforms provided, including work boots after probation.
• Fleet of modern trucks less than 5 years old, automatic, with integrated GPS and PDA.

Responsibilities

• Refuelling and preparing trucks for their next scheduled shift.
• Cleaning vehicle cabins, windscreens and exteriors to keep fleet looking its best.
• Checking and replenishing trolleys, load restraints and other essential delivery equipment.
• Identifying and reporting vehicle damage, defects or missing equipment.
• Keeping the yard, vehicles and equipment clean, safe and organised.
• Working closely with our drivers, Transport and Despatch teams to keep everything running smoothly.

We're on the lookout for a reliable, energetic and hardworking Yard Hand to join our Transport team at Wacol!

You'll play an important role in keeping our delivery fleet ready for action. When our drivers return from their daily runs, you'll take over, ensuring their trucks are refuelled, cleaned, organised and fully equipped for the next shift.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Refuelling and preparing trucks for their next scheduled shift.

• Previous experience in a yard hand, transport, fleet preparation, vehicle cleaning or warehouse environment.
• Experience with vehicle refuelling, cleaning equipment and basic fleet preparation.
• Ability to undertake physically demanding duties, including manual handling.
