Job summary

Allied Express is seeking an experienced and hands-on Yard & Depot Operations Supervisor to provide dedicated ownership of yard operations, equipment management, fleet movements and depot flow across the AM-to-PM operational transition. The role ensures the safe, efficient and organised movement of freight, vehicles and equipment while supporting depot readiness and performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport, logistics, freight or warehouse operations.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and leadership capability.
• Commitment to safety and operational excellence.
• Forklift licence or forklift experience highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate yard operations, traffic flow and depot organisation.
• Manage pallets, cages and equipment, including recovery and repair coordination.
• Oversee trailer and linehaul unit positioning and utilisation.
• Coordinate fleet returns, unloading activities and freight handovers.
• Manage return and pickup freight staging and progression.
• Monitor depot capacity and floor-space utilisation.
• Maintain safe vehicle movements and pedestrian pathways.
• Identify and resolve congestion, equipment and operational constraints.
