Technical Focus is seeking experienced Workshop Welders for immediate, ongoing casual work in St Marys. You will perform MIG and TIG welding and fabrication on varied projects, interpret drawings, and maintain high quality and safety standards in a busy workshop.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality MIG and TIG welding and fabrication work.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and workshop plans.
  • Measure, cut, prepare and fabricate materials to specifications.
  • Assemble and weld components in accordance with drawings and specs.
  • Complete welding tasks to a high standard while ensuring safety.
  • Inspect finished work for quality and accuracy.
  • Use workshop machinery, hand tools and power tools safely.
  • Report any quality issues or defects.

Due to ongoing workload and increased demand, they are seeking 5–8 experienced Workshop Welders to join their team based in St Marys.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Welders who take pride in their workmanship and are looking for immediate and ongoing work with competitive hourly rates.

About the Role

Working within a busy workshop environment, you will be responsible for completing high-quality welding and fabrication work across a range of projects.

The successful candidates will have strong MIG and TIG welding experience, excellent attention to detail and the ability to consistently produce quality workmanship while working safely and efficiently.

You will be working as part of an experienced workshop team and will be expected to maintain high standards of quality, productivity and workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality MIG and TIG welding and fabrication work.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and workshop plans.
  • Measure, cut, prepare and fabricate materials to required specifications.
  • Assemble and weld components in accordance with drawings and specifications.
  • Complete welding and fabrication tasks to a high standard.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Use workshop machinery, hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Identify and report any quality issues or defects.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.
  • Follow all WHS policies, procedures and safety requirements.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Meet required production deadlines while maintaining quality workmanship.
  • Participate in toolbox meetings and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience working as a Workshop Welder.
  • Strong MIG and TIG welding experience.
  • Previous experience within a fabrication or heavy workshop environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong understanding of welding processes and fabrication techniques.
  • Ability to measure, cut, prepare and fabricate materials accurately.
  • Competent using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent understanding of workplace health and safety.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Reliable, punctual and committed to ongoing work.
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
Essential Requirements
  • Previous professional welding experience.
  • Strong MIG and TIG welding capability.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening.
  • Reliable transport to St Marys.
  • Full working rights in Australia.
