Job summary

United Forklift and Access Solutions in Sunshine West, Melbourne, is seeking a Workshop Technician to maintain, repair and prepare a wide range of material handling and access equipment at our Sunshine West workshop. You will perform PMP inspections, diagnose faults, and carry out repairs and overhauls on premium brands.

The role offers training and development, with opportunities to work on Cat lift trucks, Konecranes and Haulotte equipment, within a supportive team and modern facilities.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Automotive Mechanics or Heavy Vehicle.
• Strong mechanical diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Team player with good customer service.

Responsibilities

• Performing planned preventative maintenance (PMP) and inspections.
• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs.
• Troubleshooting, component replacements, and overhauls.
• Carrying out new machine builds and modifications.
• Ensuring equipment is maintained to a high standard of safety and reliability.

What you'll be working on:

As a Workshop Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and preparing a wide range of material handling and access equipment.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Performing planned preventative maintenance (PMP) and inspections
• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs
• Carrying out troubleshooting, component replacements, and overhauls
• Completing new machine builds and modifications
• Ensuring equipment is maintained to a high standard of safety and reliability

We're looking for technicians who:

• Hold a trade qualification in Automotive Mechanics, Heavy Vehicle, or a similar field
• Have strong mechanical diagnostic and problem‑solving skills
• Take pride in quality workmanship and attention to detail
• Have a positive attitude and enjoy working as part of a team
• Provide great customer service and communication
• Are reliable, punctual, and able to work independently

Experience with the following would be highly regarded:

• Electrical systems and fault finding
• Hydraulic systems
• Forklifts or material handling equipment
• Heavy equipment, agricultural, mining, or earthmoving machinery
