Job summary

Master Electrical Contractors Pty Ltd is seeking a dedicated Switchboard Builder to work in a workshop-based environment. You will read electrical drawings, assemble switchboards, wire components, and perform termination work while ensuring quality and safety standards.

Daily duties include testing, maintaining workshop cleanliness, and supporting continuous production improvements. A strong focus on accuracy, safety, and teamwork will help meet tight project timelines.

Qualifications

• Strong practical skills in electrical assembly, switchboard building, or panel wiring.
• Knowledge of relevant electrical standards, safety regulations, and best practices for commercial and industrial installations.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, test equipment, and workshop machinery safely and effectively.
• Attention to detail and quality-focused approach, including accurate wiring, neat layout, and thorough inspection of completed work.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a workshop environment and follow instructions clearly.
• Good time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced production setting.
• Practical experience in switchboard or panel building.
• Understanding of modular design concepts and experience in commercial or industrial electrical projects is highly regarded.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety, including consistent use of PPE and adherence to company safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings.
• Assemble and wire commercial and industrial switchboards.
• Mount and install components and perform wiring and termination work.
• Conduct quality checks and basic functional testing.
• Maintain a clean, safe workshop environment and support production improvements.
• Collaborate with fellow board builders and management to meet project deadlines.
