Job summary

Delta Group is seeking a Workshop Supervisor in Australia to lead the workshop team and coordinate the maintenance and repair of our heavy equipment fleet. This hands-on leadership role ensures repairs are performed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

You will plan workloads, mentor technicians, liaise with project teams to secure machine availability and timely delivery, and uphold strong safety and housekeeping practices across the workshop.

Qualifications

• Experience leading tradespeople in a heavy equipment, transport, construction or similar workshop.
• Strong knowledge of plant maintenance, fault finding and safe workshop practices.
• Excellent planning, prioritisation and problem-solving skills.
• Confident leadership style with the ability to coach and develop a team.
• Strong computer, communication and organisational skills.
• Commercial awareness across labour, parts and external repairs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prioritise and allocate workshop jobs to mechanics, apprentices and contractors.
• Coordinate labour, workshop bays, tooling and resources.
• Monitor job progress, repair turnaround and machine availability.
• Provide daily leadership, coaching and technical support to the workshop team.
• Liaise with project and operational teams regarding machine availability and repairs.
• Coordinate parts, work orders, labour entries and purchase orders.
• Conduct toolbox meetings and maintain high safety and housekeeping standards.
• Support field service teams and provide recommendations on repair strategies.
• Identify and escalation safety, cost, quality and delivery issues.
