Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Australia is seeking a hands-on Workshop Supervisor to lead the Truck Bay team, guide technicians and apprentices, and ensure repairs and service work are performed safely, efficiently, and to high quality standards.

You will coordinate daily workshop activities, review repair plans, support diagnostics, liaise with customers and suppliers, and drive performance against service KPIs while maintaining HSE compliance.

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, lead and coordinate workshop activities within the Truck Bay, providing technical guidance, work direction, and support to technicians and apprentices. Ensure repairs, maintenance, and service activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards while delivering excellent customer outcomes and achieving operational targets.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Lead and mentor technicians and apprentices to support skill development and performance.
• Coordinate workshop activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
• Review repair plans, provide technical guidance, and support diagnostic and repair activities.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth service delivery.
• Monitor team performance and support achievement of operational and service KPIs.
• Prepare quotations, source materials, and coordinate resources required for workshop operations.
• Complete work orders, timesheets, warranty claims, and quality documentation accurately.
• Maintain compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and legislation.
• Report safety incidents, hazards, and non-conformances to the Workshop Manager.
• Assist with hands‑on repairs and support workshop activities as required.
• Deliver a first‑class service to our customers.
• Responsible for leading and mentoring a team of technicians and apprentices.
• Ensure your team achieves its KPI's to deliver results.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth process from beginning to end.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and report any issues / incidents to the Workshop Manager
• Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens
• Being a hands‑on tools Supervisor from time to time, with minor repairs
