Job summary

Brimarco in Ballarat, Australia, seeks an experienced workshop leader to run day-to-day builds for heavy-duty trailers and customised vehicles. You’ll plan work, allocate crews, and maintain pace to meet schedules while upholding quality, safety, and workmanship standards.

The role rewards hands-on problem-solving, mentoring apprentices, and partnering with engineering, purchasing and production teams. Permanent, full-time position with a pathway to bigger leadership as we grow.

Qualifications

• Solid trade background in welding, fabrication or vehicle building.
• Formal leadership experience is a plus, not a must.
• Able to earn the respect of a team and lead by example.
• Good judgement on quality, sequence & safety, and standards you’ll set and hold to.
• Organised and level-headed — keep a build on track under pressure.
• Pre-employment medical screening is required.

Responsibilities

• Run the day-to-day on builds — plan the work, allocate the crew, keep it moving.
• Set the standard for quality, safety and finish, and hold the team to it.
• Mentor and develop apprentices and newer hands.
• Collaborate with engineering, purchasing and production to keep builds on schedule.
• Be on the tools with the team.
