Job summary

Field Mining Services Group in Paget, Queensland, seeks Boilermakers for our Paget Workshop. You will join a skilled crew delivering light to heavy fabrication, repairs, and component work in a safety-first environment.

The role requires reading fab drawings, meticulous workmanship, and the ability to use overhead cranes and workshop equipment. MIG welding and experience with plate/structural steel are preferred; teamwork and pride in quality are essential.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication, repairs and component work in a well-equipped workshop.

About the Role

Join our Paget Workshop team and become part of a business that values safety, quality, and looking after its people. Based in Paget, this role offers the opportunity to work in a well-equipped workshop delivering fabrication, repairs, and component work as part of a skilled and supportive crew.

We are after Boilermakers who take pride in doing the job right the first time. You have a sharp eye for detail, high standards, and a strong commitment to quality workmanship. You are confident across light to heavy fabrication, can read and interpret drawings, and know how to plan your work effectively.

If you are reliable, motivated, and bring a positive attitude with a strong team and safety mindset, you will fit right in. We are looking for people who want to be part of a crew that backs each other, takes ownership, and delivers quality every time.

• Light to heavy steel fabrication
• Experience with plate work, structural steel, and complex assemblies
• MIG / Flux Core welding experience (TIG / Stick advantageous)
• Reading and interpreting engineering and fabrication drawings
• Assembly and welding of large components
• Use of overhead cranes, forklifts, and workshop equipment
• Cutting, gouging, and preparation of materials
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety, and quality

The successful applicant, will have

• Relevant Trade Qualification
• Current driver's licence (preferred)
• High-risk tickets an advantage (forklift, crane, dogging, rigging)
• Must be able to weld to 9606.1 standards and pass weld test
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A strong focus on safety and quality
• Problem solving and decision-making skills
• Great communication and interpersonal skills
