Job summary

Cater Care Group is hiring a Workplace Relations Advisor in a part-time, permanent role (approx. 28 hours/week) with hybrid flexibility, Brisbane or Sydney based.

Reporting to the Group Workplace Relations Manager, you’ll provide practical HR advice, interpret industrial instruments, and conduct investigations as part of a growing team. Ideal candidates have prior Workplace Relations/IR experience, relevant HR/IR qualifications preferred, and strong stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• Proven years in Workplace Relations/IR advisory roles.
• Experience interpreting the Fair Work Act and industrial instruments.
• Experience with workplace investigations and reporting.
• Ability to develop and advocate ER/IR policies.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical advice on workforce performance and disciplinary matters.
• Advise leaders on performance, behaviour, grievances.
• Interpret contracts and industrial instruments for HR IR.
• Conduct workplace investigations with evidence plans and findings.
• Support continuous improvement of ER/IR policies.
• Keep updated on HR/IR legislation and regulations.
• Utilise online ER case work system and contribute to projects.

About the role

Reporting directly to the Group Workplace Relations Manager, the role will be responsible to:

• Provide practical advice on workforce performance and disciplinary matters.
• Support/Provide practical advice to leaders on performance matters, behavioral issues, employee grievances.
• Interpret and advise on the Fair Work Act, employment contracts and industrial instruments.
• Conduct workplace investigations - evidence plans, interviews and findings report writing
• Assist in the continuous improvement of ER/IR policies and procedures
• Keep abreast of legislation and regulations in HR/IR.
• Utilise an online Workplace Relations case work system.
• Contribute to broader Workplace Relations projects and initiatives.

Desired Skills and Experience

Skills, Experience, Attributes

• Proven years experience in a Workplace Relations/IR Advisor role
• Tertiary qualifications in HR/IR whilst preferable is not essential
• Experience in interpreting the Fair Work Act and industrial instruments
• Workplace incident investigation experience including witness interviewing and reporting
• Preparedness to develop advocacy skills in representing the Company in the Fair Work and EEO Commissions.
• Writing and reviewing ER/IR policies and procedures.
• Consulting and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage conflicting deadlines.
• Strong team and customer oriented and willingness to take on new challenges.
