Job description

Aqseptence Group Pty Ltd is a global leader in the design and manufacture of customised stainless steel screening solutions for end-user applications across the mining, refining, water, and general industrial sectors. In Australia, we employ over 100 people, primarily at our Eagle Farm facility on Brisbane’s northside. Join our team and be part of our mission to create a more sustainable future.

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced WHS Advisor to support our Eagle Farm site following a recent manufacturing transition. You will ensure our WHS systems are fully audited, strengthened, and continuously improved.

This is a highly hands‑on role. You will maintain a strong presence on the workshop floor, while also dedicating time to audits, documentation, reporting, and system improvements. You’ll work closely with supervisors, operators, and manufacturing teams to drive WHS excellence where it matters most—operationally and administratively.

This role has no direct reports. Success will depend on your initiative, practical involvement, and ability to influence others rather than manage them.

You will report directly to the HR & HSEQ Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • WHS Auditing & Compliance: Conduct audits of risk assessments, JSAs, SOPs, and SWIs to identify and close gaps.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement safety plans, policies, procedures, work instructions, and competency frameworks for high‑risk machinery and tasks.
  • Training & Competency Management: Oversee the WHS training and competency platform (Lucidity), ensuring compliance and correct task signoffs.
  • Incident Management: Investigate incidents, implement corrective actions, manage event data in Lucidity, and maintain monthly reporting.
  • Risk Management: Identify hazards, conduct risk assessments, and implement effective control strategies.
  • Workplace Engagement: Partner with supervisors and team leaders to embed a proactive, safety‑first culture.
  • Return‑to‑Work Coordination: Serve as the on‑site rehab coordinator, supporting injured workers, facilitating suitable duties, and liaising with WorkCover.
  • Safety Meetings & Reporting: Lead HSR and safety meetings, provide legislative guidance under the WHS Act 2011 and WHS Regulation 2011, and ensure documentation accuracy.
About You
  • Experience: Proven experience as a WHS Advisor, Officer, or Coordinator in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of WHS legislation, risk management, and safety systems.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive a proactive safety culture.
  • Hands‑On Approach: Comfortable spending time across the workshop floor, not just behind a desk.
  • Detail‑Driven: Highly attentive to hazard identification, corrective actions, and documentation quality.
  • Resilience: Able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and remain calm under pressure in a stand‑alone role.
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety or a related discipline, with practical experience applying WHS legislation in manufacturing.
What’s in It for You
  • ✔ Competitive hourly rate
  • ✔ Opportunity to make a real impact on safety outcomes
  • ✔ A hands‑on role where your work directly improves workplace wellbeing
  • ✔ A supportive team committed to continuous improvement
