Responsibilities
  • The position of Workforce Support Officer is responsible for providing a high quality, customer focused workforce/ human resources service to the hospital sites and clinical services with a particular emphasis on recruitment and selection, on-boarding, contract management, personnel administration (including records management), and the provision of advice on HR related policy, awards, agreements, practice and legislation.
  • The Medical Workforce Unit (MWU) encompasses both Junior Medical Officer (JMO) and Senior Medical Officer (SMO) recruitment, appointment and management, and is committed to delivering high quality, client-focused and professional services that support the organisation in the delivery of its core function, which is the provision of high quality, safe and efficient health services that are responsive to the needs of patients, carers and the community.

About the Organization

Wollongong Hospital, located on Dharawal Country, is the Illawarra Shoalhaven’s major referral and teaching hospital and has a bed-base count of more than 500. The campus, which incorporates the Illawarra Regional Cancer Care Centre, provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.
