Job summary

Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration is seeking a Workforce Projects Officer to support People and Culture projects that help shape Western Australia’s future workforce. The role offers flexible work arrangements, with options to work at home, in the field or in the office, and opportunities for training and development.

Permanent Appointment

Join the People and Culture team as a Workforce Projects Officer and support projects that contribute to DMPE’s future workforce. As a member of the department, you will help support the development of Western Australia’s resources sector, which oversees resource development and improved environmental outcomes for mining, petroleum and exploration for the benefit of WA and future generations. The role

In this role, you will play an important part in bringing People and Culture projects to life. Working across the department, you will help coordinate key workforce initiatives, support meetings and consultation forums, track actions, and contribute to project reporting that keeps deliverables and milestones moving forward. You will also support project planning, analyse workforce data to inform initiatives, and prepare clear, well-researched documents such as memos, briefings and reports. While this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies (permanent, fixed-term, full-time or part-time) within the department for the next 12 months, from the date that the recruitment breach period has been finalised.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a permanent appointment, applicants must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia at the time of application. Applicants with a valid visa to work and live in Australia for a specific duration may be assessed and considered suitable for similar fixed term vacancies that arise. Should a qualification be required for this position, applicants must provide their certification and/or academic transcripts to verify relevance to the job requirements.

Qualifications

Qualifications obtained outside of Australia must be provided with an assessment from the Overseas Qualifications Unit to ensure they meet Australian Standards (this is a free service). To work for DMPE, you must consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a clearance before you start. If deemed suitable, DMPE will coordinate and pay for your NCCHC as part of your pre-employment checks. More information about eligibility requirements can be found on the Job Description Form.
