Job summary

Best Sheds Pty in Port Kembla, NSW is seeking a proactive Work Health & Safety Manager to lead our WHS program across multiple sites. You will ensure compliance with our WHS management system, drive risk management initiatives, and oversee audits and KPI reporting to maintain a safe workplace for staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar WHS leadership role within a medium to large enterprise.
• Strong knowledge of OH&S legislation and standards.
• Proven stakeholder management and coaching skills to influence safety outcomes.
• Self-motivated leader able to work autonomously.
• High attention to detail with excellent time management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee compliance with the established WHS management system.

About the role

Reporting to our COO and CEO, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing our compliance with the established WHS management system, as well as leading risk management strategies and interventions within the business. This includes overseeing audits, driving WHS reporting, and implementing strategies to address emerging risks and trends, all while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for employees.

Other key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Collaboration and Compliance: Working closely with key stakeholders to ensure the company meets all necessary safety and health regulations.
• Audit Management: Overseeing both internal and external audits to ensure the company remains compliant with safety and wellbeing standards.
• Consistency Across Business Units: Ensuring WHS policies and practices are applied consistently across different business units.
• Reporting and Analytics: Handling WHS reporting to ensure compliance with legislation and internal KPI's
• Risk Management: Developing and implementing strategies to manage and mitigate risks, addressing emerging trends, and adjusting to business needs

Skills and experience

Key Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role within a medium to large commercial enterprise.
• Sound technical knowledge in relation to OH&S legislation and standards.
• Demonstrated stakeholder management and consultation/coaching skills to identify and influence desired outcomes.
• Self-motivated leader with the ability to work autonomously.
• High attention to detail, with excellent time management skills.
