Polyaire are excited to be looking for a Work Health and Safety Manager to lead the transformation of their Work Health and Safety framework. This is a new exciting opportunity to shape and embed a safety-first culture in a dynamic, national business.

You will have the chance to build foundational systems and practices from the ground up, ensuring safety across all operations and corporate. This role offers high visibility, executive support, professional development opportunities, and the chance to influence lasting change.

What you'll do:

As our WHS Manager, you will partner closely with senior management, operational leaders, and frontline teams to ensure compliance, build organisational capability, and drive continuous improvement in safety practices. This is both a strategic and hands-on role that combines leadership, coaching, and mentoring with monitoring safety performance across our multi-site operations.

Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you will also be responsible for:

  • Being the 'Champion' for a 'safety-first' culture by partnering with site leaders to drive WHS initiatives
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior management on WHS risks and opportunities
  • Lead the development of a WHS strategy aligned with operational needs
  • Build leadership capability through education on WHS obligations and risk awareness
  • Maintain the WHS Management System to ensure legislative compliance
  • Monitor compliance with WHS policies and provide guidance for improvement where needed
  • Conduct internal audits, site visits, and reviews to identify risk and drive continual improvement
  • Develop, update, and implement WHS documentation including risk assessments, procedures, and training materials

What You'll Bring

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in Work Health and Safety management across multi-site operations. Your proven ability to partner with business leaders to influence safety culture and compliance will be key to your success in this role.

Additionally, the successful candidate will bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety or related field
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in similar senior WHS role across multi-site operations
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, standards (e.g. ISO 45001), and practical implementation in dynamic environments
  • Proven experience partnering with business leaders to influence safety culture and compliance
  • Strong experience conducting audits, investigations, and risk assessments

Desirable Skills & Certifications:

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in WHS.
  • Experience in warehousing, manufacturing, or logistics environments.
  • Experience with Self Insurance frameworks, compliance, or audits.
