Job summary

Umenco is seeking an Assistant Designer to join a contemporary womenswear brand with a strong international presence. You will support the day-to-day operations of the design studio from research through to product.

You will work closely with the Founder and Creative Director, translating the creative vision into cohesive, commercially relevant collections while meeting option targets and seasonal timelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years' experience in a fashion design role.
• BA/MA in Fashion Design or equivalent qualification.
• Experience across a broad range of design categories.
• Strong Illustrator and Photoshop skills.
• Highly organised with attention to detail.
• Good understanding of fashion trends, product development and commercial design.
• Ability to collaborate, manage multiple priorities and maintain clear workflows.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operations of the design studio.
• Contribute to development and delivery of each collection from research to product.
• Collaborate with Founder and Creative Director on seasonal research and design execution.
• Prepare mood boards and seasonal research covering trends, eras, colours and fabrics.
• Prepare technical drawings and tech packs; attend fittings and meetings.
• Oversee prototype sampling and communicate throughout development.
• Contribute to accessories, special projects and collaborations as required.
