Job summary
AEMO's Victorian Synchronous and Storage Connections team invites an Electrical Engineer to assess wind, solar, BESS and data centre connection projects in Victoria. You will run power system studies, identify technical issues and test solutions to help projects connect smoothly.
The role offers flexible/hybrid working across Melbourne offices and other sites, and you will collaborate with VicGrid, industry stakeholders and government to strengthen AEMO's role as a trusted advisor while
Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering.
- Eligibility for engineering registration (e.g., RPEV) is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Deliver power system studies using PSSE, PSCAD, PowerFactory, small-signal analysis and operational data.
- Support generator, storage and data-centre connection projects under guidance of a Lead Engineer.
- Develop innovative technical assessment approaches with AEMO and industry stakeholders.
- Contribute to complex connection categories including offshore wind, HVDC links and data centres.
- Support VicGrid in delivering shared network functions and joint planning activities.
- Strengthen AEMO’s reputation as a trusted technical advisor to developers, market participants and government.
