Taronga Zoo Sydney is seeking an experienced Veterinary Officer to lead education, outreach and capability-building across NSW. You will shape veterinary education, deliver regional training, and foster collaboration with clinics, wildlife bodies and government agencies.

This role blends clinical leadership with education program design, supports workforce development, ensures high-quality wildlife care and outcomes, and requires travel across regional NSW.

Qualifications

• Tertiary veterinary qualifications and eligible for registration in NSW.
• Experience in zoo and wildlife medicine with emphasis on animal welfare and evidence-based practice.
• Experience sharing knowledge and building capability through coaching or training.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, delivery and improvement of wildlife veterinary education and outreach programs.
• Deliver regional training and professional development to strengthen veterinary knowledge and clinical decision-making.
• Establish relationships with clinics, wildlife organisations and government bodies to support program outcomes.
• Provide clinical leadership to inform education programs and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Ensure education activities meet stakeholder needs and funding requirements, with evaluation and reporting.
• Develop new education and workforce capability initiatives to enhance organisational impact.
