Job summary

Ramsay Health Care in Cairns is seeking a dedicated WHS Coordinator to lead safety across the Ramsay Cairns network, including Cairns Private Hospital, Ramsay Surgical Centre Cairns and Ramsay Clinic Cairns.

You will embed safety systems, investigate incidents, conduct risk assessments, and deliver safety training while aligning with the National Safety Team and facility Executives. The role is permanent part-time with flexible rostering and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety (WHS) with a Certificate IV.
• Experience in WHS, ideally within health sector or large organisation.
• Ability to work independently as the sole safety professional at the facility.
• Strong planning, time management and decision‑making skills.
• Full Australian work rights, a current police check, and immunisation proof.

Responsibilities

• Embed and maintain Ramsay safety management system, templates and documentation.
• Investigate incidents and implement solutions to minimise future risks.
• Conduct risk assessments, site audits and workplace safety training.
• Develop and maintain effective safety practices.
• Prepare and present safety performance reports for internal stakeholders.
