Location: Alice Springs, NT (preferred) | Adelaide, SA (frequent travel to Alice Springs and project sites considered)

IM Partners is proud to be recruiting on behalf of Total Project Australia, a growing commercial construction company delivering projects throughout Central Australia and remote communities.

This isn't a role where you'll simply maintain compliance.

We're looking for a WHS & Compliance Manager who wants to build capability, influence safety culture, partner with operational teams and leave the business stronger than they found it.

If you're someone who enjoys being in the field, working alongside project teams, solving problems before they become incidents and creating practical systems that people actually use, we'd love to hear from you.

You'll work directly with senior leadership and project teams to shape the company's safety culture while continually improving systems across a growing business.

This role offers genuine autonomy, variety and the opportunity to influence how safety and compliance are managed across multiple construction projects.

Depending on your circumstances, the role can be based in:

  • Alice Springs (preferred)
  • Adelaide, with regular travel to Alice Springs and project sites
What You'll Be Responsible For

You’ll take ownership of the company's WHS and compliance framework across all operations, including:

  • Leading and continually improving the WHS Management System
  • Conducting site inspections, audits and compliance reviews
  • Providing practical safety advice to Project Managers and site teams
  • Managing subcontractor prequalification and ongoing compliance
  • Leading incident investigations and driving corrective actions
  • Maintaining compliance registers, licences and training records
  • Supporting ISO-aligned management systems and continual improvement initiatives
  • Working closely with operational leaders to strengthen safety culture across the business
You'll likely bring:
  • Minimum 5 years' WHS experience within construction, civil, infrastructure or mining
  • Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety
  • Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and Codes of Practice
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections and incident investigations
  • Experience managing subcontractor compliance across multiple projects
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills
  • Strong computer skills and experience with digital management systems
  • White Card and unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence
  • Willingness to travel to project sites across Australia

Most importantly, you're someone who builds trust, earns respect on site and isn't afraid to have the conversations that matter.

This is a rare opportunity to join a growing business where your experience will genuinely shape the future of safety and compliance.

You’ll have the support of an experienced leadership team while enjoying the autonomy to improve systems, influence culture and make a lasting impact across the organisation.
