Job summary

Sigma Healthcare is seeking a National Wholesale Category Buyer to lead category strategies and manage the product range for wholesale growth. You will work with suppliers on commercial opportunities and ensure optimal pricing, promotions and lifecycle management across the portfolio.

Collaborating with Supply Chain, Retail, Marketing, Finance and Operations, you will drive profitability and stock efficiency while delivering strong category outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in a buying, category or commercial role.
• Strong commercial and category management capability across product ranging, supplier management, negotiations, pricing, promotional activity and delivering sales and profitability.
• Ability to analyse category performance, market trends, customer insights, sales, margin and inventory data.
• Strong supplier relationship and negotiation skills with ability to maximise commercial opportunities.
• Understanding of product lifecycle and range management, including new product introductions, range reviews and end-of-life strategies.
• Highly organised with solid planning, time management and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across multiple teams.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies aligned to wholesale and commercial objectives.
• Manage full product lifecycle including range reviews, new introductions, transitions and discontinuations.
• Build and maintain supplier relationships, negotiate terms, promo funding and co-op contributions.
• Monitor sales, margin, profitability, inventory and stock performance to identify and address underperforming products.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain and Planning on forecasting, inventory management and stock decisions.
• Support P&L management and deliver financial targets through pricing, sourcing and negotiations.
• Coordinate with Retail, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and Operations on promotions and category plans.
• Provide reporting, insights and recommendations to support category performance.
