Job description
So many lives. So many ways. One you.

50,000 lives and counting.

That’s how many South Australians our people support each year.

As one of the state’s leading not-for-profits, we’re making a meaningful impact at scale. From foster care to aged care and everything in between, our services are as diverse as the people and communities we serve - and we’re growing our reach for the future.

It takes a special kind of person to work in this sector. Someone with real compassion and care. Could that person be you?

Join us as a Wellness Engagement Assistant, and be part of something bigger.

What you’ll do

As a Wellness Engagement Assistant at our Residential Aged Care Facility in Elizabeth East, you’ll help bring joy, connection, and purpose to the lives of residents. Your work will focus on delivering engaging, person-centred programs that support wellbeing, independence and dignity — and you’ll see the positive difference you make every day.

You’ll be trusted to make a valuable impact by:

  • Facilitating both group and one-on-one engagement activities tailored to cognitive ability, energy levels, and emotional needs.
  • Adapting your approach to suit the moment — whether that's bringing high energy and enthusiasm or offering calm, grounded presence during quieter times.
  • Supporting the emotional wellbeing of residents by creating meaningful moments and building positive relationships.
  • Working independently while staying connected to the broader clinical and care team, including RN support always available if needed.
  • Following a guide of daily work but confidently adjusting to changing resident needs, disruptions, or unexpected circumstances.
What you’ll bring

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Certificate III in Aged Care / Individual Support (essential)
  • Previous experience working in a Memory Support Unit, supporting individuals with dementia
  • Ability to confidently facilitate both group and 1:1 activities, using initiative and creativity
  • Awareness of the environment and resident needs, with the ability to adapt your energy and style as needed
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a calm and empathetic approach
  • Self-motivation and confidence to work independently, while contributing positively to the wider team

We would also love you to have:

  • Certificate III in Leisure & Health (desirable)
  • Knowledge of Aged Care Standards and person-centred engagement principles
  • Experience documenting resident participation and wellbeing outcomes
