Job summary

Berry Street is seeking a Wellbeing Leader at the Shepparton Campus to oversee the Student Wellbeing Program and drive wellbeing strategies using the Berry Street Education Model (BSEM). You will liaise with students, families and care teams to support attendance and engagement while building staff capability to implement wellbeing approaches.

The role is full-time and permanent, based on the Shepparton Campus on Yorta Yorta Country.

Qualifications

  • Collaborative and values-driven leadership required.
  • Experience supporting young people with complex needs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Student Wellbeing Program and implement wellbeing strategies.
  • Implement Berry Street Education Model (BSEM) at the campus.
  • Liaise with students, families and care teams to support attendance and engagement.
  • Champion child safety at the campus.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Youth Work or Welfare
Diploma + 5 years experience considered

Berry Street School is a specialist independent secondary school that supports students at risk of disengaging from education.

We offer:

  • Years 7–10 adapted Victorian Curriculum
  • Years 11–12 VCE VM and VPC

Our classrooms are small, flexible and deeply relational. Our work is grounded in the Berry Street Education Model (BSEM), trauma-informed practice and strong partnerships with families and support services, ensuring learning is safe, relational and responsive to each young person’s needs.

About the role
  • Full-time, Permanent role

  • $107K plus Super + Salary Packaging
  • Start date negotiable

As a Wellbeing Leader at the Shepparton Campus you will oversee the Student Wellbeing Program including developing and/or implementing student wellbeing strategies and programs and play a key role in implementing BSEM (Berry Street Education Model).

Liaise with students, families/carers and care teams to support student attendance and engagement whilst developing the abilities of staff to implement wellbeing strategies.

About you

We are looking for a collaborative and values-driven leader with experience supporting young people with complex needs. You can build strong partnerships, guide and support staff, and drive wellbeing initiatives that improve student engagement and outcomes.

You will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree qualification in Education, Social Work, Youth Work or Welfare is a requirement for this role with preferred experience in an educational setting. Applicants with a diploma and at least five years experience will be considered.
