Living Gems seeks an experienced Welder to join the Rockhampton construction team, fabricating and welding structural steel for villa components. You will read engineering drawings, cut and prepare materials, and uphold high safety standards on site.

You’ll work at heights, coordinate with Site Managers and trades to keep projects progressing, and deliver quality workmanship within project timeframes.

Qualifications

• Relevant trade qualification or demonstrated experience in welding, fabrication and fitting.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Experience with MIG and/or TIG welding.
• Knowledge of relevant building codes and Australian Standards.
• Construction Induction White Card.

Living Gems is looking for experienced Welder to join our construction team, with opportunities available at our Rockhampton project.

A day in the life...

This role involves the fabrication, fitting, assembly and welding of metal components for the structural components of our villas.You’ll be required to complete works safely, efficiently and to a high standard.This role involves regular work at heights and a strong focus on safe work practices. You’ll work closely with Site Managers, supervisors and other trades to keep projects progressing.

Job Duties

• Fabrication and assembly of structural steel and metal components
• MIG welding and general fabrication duties
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Cutting, measuring and preparing materials
• Using hand and power tools
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard
• Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
• Work safely at heights using appropriate fall protection equipment and procedures.
• Coordinate with supervisors, contractors and other trades to meet project requirements.
• Maintain a high standard of workmanship while ensuring work is completed within project timeframes.

What you'll bring

• Relevant trade qualification or demonstrated experience in welding, fabrication and fitting
