Job summary

Living Gems seeks an experienced Welder to join the Rockhampton construction team, fabricating and welding structural steel for villa components. You will read engineering drawings, cut and prepare materials, and uphold high safety standards on site.

You’ll work at heights, coordinate with Site Managers and trades to keep projects progressing, and deliver quality workmanship within project timeframes.

Qualifications

• Relevant trade qualification or demonstrated experience in welding, fabrication and fitting.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Experience with MIG and/or TIG welding.
• Knowledge of relevant building codes and Australian Standards.
• Construction Induction White Card.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble structural steel and metal components.
• MIG welding and general fabrication duties.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Cut, measure and prepare materials.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Coordinate with supervisors and other trades to meet project requirements.
• Ensure work is completed to a high standard within project timeframes.
