Job summary

Imperial Truck Repairs in Ingleburn, NSW, is seeking qualified and experienced Welders to join our team. The Welder will perform repairs and maintenance on trailers, from minor to major fixes, ensuring quality workmanship.

Key duties include reading blueprints, selecting welding methods, operating grinders, aligning parts with calipers, welding in all positions, and testing finished surfaces for integrity. On-site, safety is a priority.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Welding – desirable or at least 3 years of proven experience as Welder.
• Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures.
• Experience with electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers).
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
• Follow instructions cooperatively and accurately; learn quickly.

Responsibilities

Position Overview:

The Welder will do repairs and maintenance of a range of trailers ranging from minor to major repairs.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
• Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
• Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
• Weld components using welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
• Repair and maintain trailers by welding pieces and filling gaps
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety

Requirements and skills:

• Trade qualification in Welding – desirable or at least 3 years of proven experience as Welder
• Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures
• Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
• Familiarity with executing various welding operations and processes in compliance with safety policies.
• Be able to follow and carry out instructions cooperatively and accurately.
• Have a can-do attitude and want to learn.

Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 annually.
