Job summary

Core Talent is seeking a qualified Welder Fabricator to join our growing Altona North workshop, building steel structures, modular equipment and custom components. You will read engineering drawings and deliver quality welds across diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a fabrication or welding workshop.
• Strong welding and metal fabrication skills.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and work independently.
• A strong focus on quality, safety and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Fabricating and welding steel frames, skids and sheet-metal components.
• Modifying shipping containers, including fitting doors and windows.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, plans and weld symbols.
• Cutting, shaping, bending, drilling and assembling metal components.
• Performing MIG, TIG and other welding processes as required.
• Grinding, finishing, painting and inspecting completed work.
• Maintaining workshop equipment and keeping the workspace safe and organised.
