Welder role available to join our SQS teams with potential assignment across NSW, QLD, SA, VIC, or WA.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret project plans, engineering drawings, blueprints, and other written instructions and diagrams to perform tasks at hand
• Perform fabrication and repair works on various metal structures and components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints
• Work with a variety of materials, including steel, aluminium, and other alloys
• Weld small and large components such as copper plumbing, beams, and pipelines
• Perform appropriate types of weld based on project needs and specifications
• Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions
• Ensure fabrication and repairs are carried out using proper safety guidelines to ensure rework jobs do not occur
• Use a range of hand and power tools, including grinders, drills, and cutting tools
• Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure it meets standard specifications
• Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature
• Follow and enforce strict safety regulations to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace

Requirements

• Trade certificate in Engineering Fabrication or Equivalent
• Proficient in performing all welding, gouging, cutting, or other duties
• Post-trade experience in the same field
• Proactive attitude with the desire to work reliably as part of an outstanding team to deliver excellence for our clients
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints
• Experience working with a variety of materials, including steel, aluminum, and other alloys
• Familiarity with a range of hand and power tools, including grinders, drills, and cutting tools
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to conduct quality checks on completed work
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team to complete assigned tasks
• Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace
• Strong communication and reporting skills
