Brisbane Reinforcement Company in Brisbane, QLD, is looking for an experienced and certified Welder/Steel Fabricator to join our hands-on steel yard team. The role focuses on welding and fabricating reinforcing steel components with high attention to detail in a busy environment.

You will read drawings, measure, cut, fit and assemble steel parts, operate workshop equipment, and ensure all work meets safety and quality standards.

Competenze

• Experience as welder/steel fabricator in a busy steel yard.
• Mandatory Certificate 3 & 4 in Engineering/Welding.
• Ability to read and work from drawings.
• Physically fit with attention to safety and quality.

Mansioni

• Weld and fabricate steel components to high standards.
• Fabricate reinforcing steel cages and custom components.
• Measure, mark, cut, fit and assemble steel parts.

We are currently seeking an experienced and certified Welder / Steel Fabricator to join our team.

This is a hands-on role within a busy steel yard environment, suited to someone with strong welding and fabrication skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.

What You'll Be Doing

• Perform high-quality welding on steel components and fabricated products.

• Fabricate reinforcing steel cages, custom steel components and other products as required.

• Independently measure, mark, cut, prepare, fit and assemble steel components.

• Operate workshop equipment

• Ensure all welding and fabrication work meets required quality standards.

• Check completed work for accuracy, measurements, alignment and weld quality.

• Assist with general steel processing and fabrication duties when required.

• Identify and resolve fabrication issues using practical problem-solving skills.

• Work safely and efficiently in a busy steel yard environment.

• Maintain welding equipment, tools and work areas in a clean, safe and organised condition.

• Complete daily timesheets, production records and required paperwork.

• Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members to ensure jobs are completed accurately and on time.

• Strong welding skills and experience.

• Previous experience in steel fabrication or a similar welding role.

• Ability to confidently read and work independently from drawings.

• Strong measuring, cutting, fitting and assembly skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and pride in workmanship.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Strong practical problem-solving skills.

• Physically fit and comfortable working in a hands-on steel yard environment.

• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.

• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

• Good communication skills and a positive attitude.

• Current driver's licence.

• Willingness to assist with other steel yard duties when required.

• MANDATORY – Certificate 3 & 4 in Engineering/Welding

Highly Regarded

• Previous experience fabricating reinforcing steel cages.

• Experience working with reinforcing steel and construction products.

• Experience welding.

• Previous steel yard or steel processing experience.

• Relevant welding or fabrication trade qualifications.
