Job summary

Malabar Resources Maxwell Underground Mine is seeking CHPP Technicians to support CHPP operations and maintenance in a dynamic Hunter Valley site. You will work under the CHPP Supervisor, bringing electrical or mechanical trade expertise to ensure safe, efficient plant performance.

Ideal candidates will have trade qualifications, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and familiarity with CHPP environments. On-site role with long-term opportunities within a 25-year mine plan.

Qualifications

• Trade qualifications in electrical or mechanical disciplines.
• Demonstrated problem solving and strong communication skills.
• Experience with CHPP or fixed plant operations is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate strong safety focus and promote HS&E requirements on site.
• Complete workplace inspections of CHPP areas per Mine Inspection Plan.
• Work with electrical and mechanical technicians to perform CHPP operations and maintenance.
• Support development of a positive working culture.
• Assist with developing working systems for CHPP operations.

About Us

The Maxwell Underground Mine, owned by Malabar Resources Ltd has commenced operations at their Hunter Valley site, with planned production of up to 8 million tonnes of per annum and approvals in place out to 2046, the mine targets high quality coal with the majority being metallurgical coal. About The Role

To support our ongoing growth, we are currently seeking CHPP Technicians to join our Team. Reporting to the CHPP Supervisor, we are ideally looking for individuals who have demonstrated problem-solving skills and proven experience in a CHPP to achieve operational objectives.

What You Will Be Doing

• Demonstrate a strong safety focus and actively promote site HS&E requirements amongst the wider team.
• Complete workplace inspections of CHPP area consistent with the Mine Inspection Plan
• Work with electrical and mechanical technicians to perform CHPP operations and maintenance tasks in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Support the development of a positive working culture.
• Assist with the development of working systems for CHPP operations.

About You

• Trade Qualifications (Electrical or Mechanical)
• Working knowledge of the Work Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Act and regulations
• Prior experience in safe CHPP (or equivalent fixed plant) operations and maintenance activities is desirable.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills and strong communication skills.
• Excellence time management and prioritisation skills
• Highly developed interpersonal skills, including excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• High level of computer literacy
• Knowledge of Pulse Maintenance System (or similar) is highly desirable.
