Job summary

Goulburn & District Racing Club is seeking an experienced hospitality/venue manager to coordinate race day and event operations. You will deliver exceptional customer experiences, oversee setup and pack down, and promote corporate events and private functions.

In this hands-on role you will manage bookings, liaise with suppliers, supervise staff, and drive sales through strong relationship building. Weekend availability and a proactive approach are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• Previous hospitality or venue management experience.
• Availability for weekend work.
• Strong sales and relationship-building skills.

• Proactive attitude and willingness to be hands on.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Current driver's licence and vehicle (essential).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate functions and events from enquiry through to completion.
• Deliver exceptional customer experiences across all events.
• Oversee the setup and pack down of event and function spaces.
• Ensure hospitality venues are presentation ready at all times.
• Supervise hospitality staff during race meetings and functions.
• Provide hands on operational support during events and busy service periods.
• Coordinate race day hospitality operations.
• Maintain stock levels and assist with purchasing and inventory control.
• Prepare event run sheets and race day operational plans.
• Promote corporate events, weddings, private functions and race day packages.
• Build relationships with local businesses and community groups.
• Identify opportunities to expand the Club's hospitality offering.
• Coordinate bookings, enquiries and customer correspondence.
• Maintain accurate records and reporting.
• Assist with marketing, social media content and promotional activities.
• Liaise with suppliers, members and stakeholders.
• Support the CEO with hospitality and event initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with Workplace Health & Safety requirements and Club procedures.
• Increase hospitality revenue through promotions and sales initiatives.
• Identify, apply for and manage government funding and grant opportunities.
• Identify, secure and manage sponsorship opportunities to strengthen partnerships.
• Generate new event bookings and event opportunities.
• Maximise race day hospitality sales and customer spend.
