Job summary

2K Pasture Management Pty Ltd in Gatton, QLD is expanding its team. We are seeking a Weed Controller to join our motivated crew on a 9-on, 5-off FIFO/DIDO roster, performing weed management across pastoral and forestry settings.

The role involves high/low volume spraying, basal barking, stem injection, and other methods, with emphasis on safety, teamwork and practical problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Hardworking and friendly with a can-do attitude.
• Able to follow instructions and protocols.
• Willing to obtain ACUP and Chainsaw ticket in future.

Responsibilities

• Weed control operations across pastoral, agricultural, commercial and silvicultural sites including high volume, basal barking, stem injecting, cut stump and boom spraying.
• Maintain a safe workplace, including keeping OHS records.
• Support the Technical Manager and Maintenance Supervisor.
• Maintain accurate spray operation records.
• Engage in Research and Development activities when required.
• Possess MR or HR driving licence or willingness to obtain in the future.
• Work semi-autonomously and as part of a team.
• This role involves 9 days on, 5 days off, FIFO/DIDO from south-east Queensland.

2K Pasture management is a family-owned business and a driving force to develop and promote best management strategies in the weed control space for the pastoral and commercial forestry industries from the Lockyer Valley to Central Queensland. We provide innovative and integrated weed management solutions to manage woody, noxious and nuisance weeds for grazing, riparian, environmentally sensitive, commercial and forestry situations.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As our business is growing, we have opportunities for a Weed Controller to join our highly motivated team conducting weed management projects on a flexible 9-on, 5-off roster FIFO/DIDO from south-east Queensland to Central Queensland. Weed Controllers are required to work within a team to complete projects that may involve high volume spraying, low volume spraying, basal barking, cut stump application and stem injection of weeds in a variety of situations. Immediate start available.

• Australian Chemical Users Permit (ACDC) or ability to obtain
• Chainsaw ticket – or willing to obtain in the future
• Spray application experience – advantage but not essential
• The ability to work semi-autonomously
• MR or HR driving license – or willing to obtain in the future
• Positive attitude – essential to maintain workplace culture

We require resourceful applicants who have an eye for detail and the ability to undertake work that can be physically strenuous at times. Please note this position is primarily 9 days on and 5 days off, FIFO/DIDO from southeast Qld, often working in isolated or remote locations.
