The Australian Library and Information Association is seeking a Website and Digital Content Manager to enhance their online presence and engage with stakeholders. The Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) is the national organisation representing the Australian library and information services sector. Together we seek to empower the sector through the development, promotion and delivery of quality library and information services to the nation, through leadership, advocacy and mutual professional support. Membership of ALIA is open to everyone: people working in the sector, qualified librarians and library technicians, professionals from other disciplines, people who share our values, libraries, library suppliers and other stakeholders.
POSITION PURPOSE
The Website and Digital Content Manager works as part of the Communications team under the supervision of the Director, Communications & Engagement.
You will lead content development for member and external stakeholder communications including our e-newsletters, website, and social media.
You will maintain and develop ALIA’s website, finding optimal ways to present information that enhances user experience, supports organisational goals, and drives engagement.
You will work closely with colleagues and the broader sector to identify current issues and areas of interest to create meaningful and relevant content for our audiences.
You will have strong writing and editing skills with an ability to craft content for our diverse audience groups.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure all content on the ALIA website is kept up to date, easy to find, navigate, and remains in line with brand guidelines and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
Create, schedule, and manage engaging content across ALIA’s social media platforms focused on LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook.
Curate and distribute our fortnightly e-newsletter ALIA News and monthly e-newsletter CPD Digest
Analyse social media performance to gauge engagement levels and effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
Other duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
At least three years' experience in website development and management
Working experience with WordPress and HTML
In-depth knowledge of major social media platforms (e.g., Facebook/Meta, Instagram, and LinkedIn), with an ability to tailor content and campaigns to suit the demographics, behaviours and communication norms of each audience.
Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in analysing social media metrics and insights to evaluate campaign performance, understand audience behaviour, and inform future strategies.
Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work as part of a team and be accountable for responsibilities relating to the role.
Experience in or knowledge of the libraries, museums or archives sector.
Knowledge of engagement management systems including IMIS and Higher Logic.
Good understanding of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) to increase visitors to ALIA’s website and raise awareness about the work of the sector.
Qualifications in communications or website development.
Experience using cPanel for domains and zone records.
