Job summary

Austal Limited in Cairns is seeking a Waterfront Supervisor to drive performance of Planned Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance across Depot Level Maintenance periods and Service Visits, while keeping the vessel within Class Condition. The role requires Australian citizenship and eligibility to obtain Baseline Security Clearance due to security clearance requirements.

You will lead planning, scheduling, and execution of work, ensure safety, compliance, and on-time, on-budget delivery.

Qualifications

• Hold a Construction safety induction (white card).
• Experience supervising projects within the marine or maintenance sectors.
• Strong knowledge of safety management practices including confined spaces, working at heights, energised systems, permits and JSEA.
• Project planning and scheduling, trade and service time management & de-confliction.
• Experience in dispute resolution and negotiations.
• Proven ability to lead, build and foster a team-oriented environment.
• Quoting/estimating experience.
• Project planning experience and CMMS use.
• Trade management and/or leadership background.

Responsibilities

• Work list preparation, planning and execution.
• Quality control of work scope.
• Safely deliver work scope.
• Compliance with ISO standards and program specifications.
• Support on-time & on-budget delivery of contracted work scope.
• Support managers with resource and contractor management.
• Plan project and maintenance task activities.
• Schedule adherence and reporting.
• Financial monitoring and reporting.
• Communicate expectations to all concerned parties.
• Coordinate with program/project teams to align expectations.
• Inspect and approve works as necessary.
