Job summary

Austal is seeking a Waterfront Supervisor in Cairns to drive Planned Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance across Depot Level and Service Visits, ensuring vessel integrity within Class Condition.

You will lead planning, safety, budgeting, and resource coordination, reporting to the ABF Program Manager as required. This role requires a white card and marine maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• Hold a Construction safety induction (white card).
• Project Supervision experience within the marine or maintenance industry.
• Knowledge of safety management practices including confined spaces, working at heights, energised systems, isolations, risk assessments, permits and JSEA.

Responsibilities

• Safely deliver work scope.

• Support the safe, on time & on budget delivery of Contracted Work Scope.
• Support applicable business managers with resource and contractor management.

• Communicate expectations to all parties.
• Collaborate with program/project teams to ensure clear communications.
• Inspect and approve works as necessary.
• Apply quality procedures per ISO standards or program specifications.
• Adhere to environmental and safety requirements.
• Perform duties and take responsibilities as assigned by line manager or ABF Program Manager.

The Opportunity

The purpose of the Waterfront Supervisor role is to drive performance of Planned Maintenance (PM), Corrective Maintenance (CM) across Depot Level Maintenance (DLM) periods and Service Visits (SV) periods, while maintaining vessel within Class Condition.

The role is performed in accordance with in Local and State Legislation and Austal policies and procedures. The reporting line of the position is as stated in the position holder’s employment contract.

You’ll need

Required

• Hold a Construction safety induction (white card)
• Project Supervision experience within the marine or maintenance industry.
• A strong working knowledge and understanding of safety management practices including working in confined spaces, working at heights, working with energised systems, isolations, risk assessments, permits and Job Safety and Environment Analysis'
• Project planning and scheduling, trade, and service time management & de- confliction.
• Internal/external dispute resolution and negotiations.
• Proven ability to lead, build, manage and foster a team orientated environment.
• Quoting/estimating experience.
• Project planning experience.
• Use of CMMS.
• Trade Management and / or Leadership & Management.
