Port Macquarie-Hastings Council is seeking a skilled Reticulation Network Engineer for its Community Utilities Division in Port Macquarie. You will support operation, maintenance and renewal of water and wastewater reticulation networks, lead projects and ensure safe, reliable utility delivery.

Reporting to the Reticulation Networks Manager, you will provide engineering support, manage compliance, and drive improvements across planning, design and delivery teams, including procurement and data

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in water supply and wastewater industry, preferably in an operational environment.
• Proven skills in project planning, management and delivery.
• Experience in process optimisation and troubleshooting within water and sewer operations.
• Strong report writing and communication skills.
• Advanced computer skills with spreadsheets and databases, and SCADA systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for maintenance, renewal, and compliance of water and sewer reticulation assets.
• Prepare operational and safety procedures, including shutdown protocols and risk assessments.
• Manage licensing, regulatory reporting, and environmental impact controls in line with legislation.
• Lead planning, design, approvals, delivery and capitalisation of Utilities Operations projects per PMHC’s Project Management Framework.
• Collaborate with Planning, Design and Project Delivery teams to review designs and analyse data.
• Lead procurement for works and services supporting treatment plants and headworks assets.
• Identify and implement process optimisations and innovations to improve system performance.
• Promote safe work practices through inspections, inductions and risk management.
