Port Macquarie Hastings Council is seeking a Reticulation Network Engineer to support operation, maintenance, and renewal of the water and wastewater reticulation networks. You will lead projects, review designs, and ensure safe, reliable delivery of essential utilities within the Community Utilities Division.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, experience in water/sewer operations, and strong project management skills, with advanced SCADA and data analysis capability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in the water supply and wastewater industry, preferably in operations.
• Proven skills in project planning, management and delivery.
• Experience in process optimisation and troubleshooting in water/sewer operations.
• Strong verbal and written communication and report writing.
• Advanced computer skills with spreadsheets, databases, and SCADA.
• Collaborative, safety-focused approach with a drive to innovate.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for maintenance, renewal and compliance of water and sewer reticulation assets.
• Prepare operational and safety procedures, shutdown protocols and risk assessments.
• Manage licensing, regulatory reporting and environmental controls in line with legislation.
• Lead planning, design, approvals, delivery and capitalisation of Utilities projects.
• Collaborate with Planning, Design and Project Delivery to review designs and analyse data.
• Lead procurement activities for works and services supporting treatment plants and headworks assets.
• Identify and implement process optimisations and innovations to improve system performance.
• Promote safe work practices through inspections, inductions and risk management.
