Job summary

Careers at Council – Corowa NSW invites applicants for a Trainee Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator. This full-time fixed term (3 years) role offers hands-on experience across treatment plants, pumping stations, and re-use irrigation schemes within the Federation Council area.

You will gain a Certificate III in Water Industry Operations and practical work experience, with start dates flexible around school commitments for current Year 12 students. A supportive team and community focus await.

Qualifications

• Successfully completed Maths in Year 11 or Year 12.
• Hold a Construction Induction certificate (White Card).
• Demonstrate genuine interest in water and wastewater industry.
• Hold a current/valid Class C driver’s licence or Provisional.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel).
• Knowledge of WHS practices and safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain Federation Council wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations.
• Assist in maintaining water and wastewater reticulation networks and reservoirs.
• Support in line with Council requirements and safety practices.
