Job summary

AlburyCity is seeking a qualified plumber to lead the construction and maintenance of watermains and wastewater mains, including service connections and drainage works. The role covers preventative and corrective maintenance, plant operations and supervision of contractors.

Based at the Albury/Lavington Depots with on-site works and occasional site inductions for contractors, you will work a 38-hour week, with on-call duties after hours and adherence to WHS and council guidelines to keep

Qualifications

• Essential criteria: Certificate III in Plumbing
• TAFE Certificate in Sewer/Water Construction or Plumbing/Draining and/or extensive relevant experience
• Class C (Standard) Driver's Licence (compulsory)
• Construction Induction Card

Responsibilities

• Construct and repair watermains, sewer mains, new water services, and house drains
• Water meter maintenance and replacement
• Manhole, pump station maintenance & construction
• Work in confined spaces as directed
• Complete relevant paperwork for the Networks section
• General Plumbing installation and maintenance
• Sewer & house drainage fittings
• All associated reinstatement works
• Traffic control and signing as necessary
• Operate plant as required
• Carry out plant/vehicle maintenance and weekly service reports
• Provide mentoring and support to apprentices
• Supervise and oversee works undertaken by contractors
• Undertake site inductions for contractors and staff
• Undertake site risk assessments for each task undertaken
• Liaise with residents regarding works and impacts
• Purchase and source required fittings and equipment
• Undertake works in reference to WSAA codes and AS3500 alongside council guidelines
• Provide guidance to residents regarding council infrastructure
• Identify and resolve on-site plumbing issues efficiently and safely
• On-call duties after hours during period
