Job summary

Taronga Zoo Sydney is seeking an experienced Water Systems Operator to join our Asset Management team. You’ll work across water systems, conduct testing, maintenance and repairs on zoo sites and exhibits.

The role requires trade qualification in water operations, a current NSW driver’s licence, and willingness to undergo pre-employment medicals; Taronga offers a unique, purpose-driven workplace with competitive pay and supportive benefits.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or equivalent in water systems operation.
• Certificate III in Water Operations completed or willing to complete.
• Current NSW Driver's Licence (manual preferred).
• Vaccination records for Q Fever and Hepatitis A maintained.

Responsibilities

• Perform water systems maintenance, testing, restoration and repairs.
• Operate water and reticulation systems safely and effectively.
• Monitor disinfection levels and water quality to standards.
• Follow requisition systems and complete projects on time.
• Maintain tools, vehicles and equipment in good condition.
• Promote sustainability practices to reduce environmental impact.
