Job summary

CMP Consulting Group Pty Ltd in Perth is seeking an Intermediate/Senior Water Resource Engineer with strong water management experience to join our growing team.

You will deliver hydrological studies and flood assessments across Australia, design storage solutions and diversion structures, and collaborate with colleagues across the region. This is a Perth-based role with potential travel to field operations; flexible work arrangements and opportunities to advance chartership are available.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil or Environmental) with minimum 5 years relevant experience.
  • Experience in catchment delineation, flood flow estimation and 2D surface water modelling.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Advanced report writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver hydrological studies and flood assessments throughout Australia, primarily in the resource sector.
  • Deliver storage solution designs, flood diversions, bunds, pipe crossings, culverts and other management structures.
  • Play a pivotal role in assisting the team in Perth and our colleagues across Australia and New Zealand.
  • This is a Perth based position and may require occasional travel to field operations, as required.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Intermediate/Senior Water Resource Engineer with relevant experience in water management, to join our growing Perth team with the opportunity to work on diverse and exciting projects.

Responsibilities

As an Intermediate/Senior Water Resource Engineer, you will:

Play a pivotal role in assisting the team in Perth and our colleagues across Australia and New Zealand

Deliver hydrological studies and flood assessments throughout Australia primarily in the resource sector (with potential for input into the urban development and infrastructure sectors)

Deliver storage solution designs, flood diversions, bunds, pipe crossings, culverts and other management structures

This is a Perth based position and may require occasional travel to field operations, as required.

Requirements

To be successful in the application for the role, you will display:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil or Environmental Engineering), with minimum 5yrs relevant experience

Experience in catchment delineation, flood flow estimation and 2D surface water modelling, with experience using relevant modelling software (Tuflow, HEC-RAS, RORB etc.)

A technical understanding of civil designs of bunds, bulk earthworks, diversion channels, culvert and floodway designs

The ability to work collaboratively and efficiently within a team across diverse projects and tasks

The ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy to prioritise and deliver tasks

Strong written and oral communication skills

Advanced report writing skills

Competent in Microsoft Office packages
