Job summary

South East Water is seeking an experienced WRP Operations Team Leader to guide a small operational team ensuring safe, compliant operation of Water Recycling Plants across the Mornington Peninsula region. You will lead operators, monitor processes, coordinate maintenance and support after-hours activities.

The role requires a qualification in Engineering or Science, 7+ years in wastewater or similar, and solid knowledge of PLC/SCADA systems. A Victorian Driver Licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Engineering or Science qualification.
• 7+ years' experience in wastewater treatment or water utilities.
• Knowledge of sewage and recycled water treatment processes.
• Experience leading operational teams and coordinating contractors.
• Strong safety, risk management and regulatory compliance focus.
• Understanding PLC/SCADA and process control systems.
• Current Victorian Driver Licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and mentor a team of Water Recycling Plant Operators.
• Ensure operations comply with licence conditions, environmental obligations and safety.
• Monitor treatment processes and respond to issues and performance.
• Coordinate maintenance activities and contractor works.
• Manage work permits and safe work practices.
• Participate in after-hours roster and on-call arrangements.
• Support emergency response and incident investigation.
