Job summary

Aqua Analytics is seeking a field-focused professional to conduct acoustic leak detection surveys and deploy IoT monitoring on water networks. You’ll work with NZ utility clients, travel as required, and be the face of the company on-site.

Role involves reporting defects, optimizing DMAs, and coordinating delivery while maintaining HSEQ compliance using digital tools. Some projects may occur across the Tasman.

Qualifications

• Hands-on knowledge of water distribution networks.
• Experience in acoustic leak detection or a strong technical foundation.
• Ability to work in a small team and contribute to outcomes.
• Professional, reliable client-site presence and ability to lead discussions.
• Willingness to travel and be away from home when required.
• Familiarity with smart water/IoT devices is a plus.
• Owns their work and works with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Undertake acoustic leak detection surveys across pressurised water networks.
• Install and maintain IoT monitoring devices on water and wastewater pipelines.
• Report network defects using field platforms, GIS tools, and management systems.
• Establish and optimise DMAs through night flow analysis and boundary verifications.
• Support project planning, documentation and delivery coordination.
• Manage your own HSEQ compliance using digital tools.
• Work directly with clients and represent the company on-site.
