Job summary

Hunter Water Corporation in Newcastle, NSW, seeks a Land Development Engineer for a fixed-term role through to 30 June 2027. You will assess hydraulic capacity and advise on upgrades to support development, collaborating with internal teams and external developers.

The role requires a Civil/Environmental Engineering degree, knowledge of water and wastewater networks, and strong communication skills. Familiarity with Infoworks and Mike Urban is desirable, with hybrid work options available.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related discipline.
• Knowledge of water and wastewater supply network functions.
• IT systems knowledge, especially MS Office.
• Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Investigate hydraulic capacity within water and wastewater networks.
• Review developer water and sewer servicing strategies and advise on upgrades.
• Apply and administer the Connecting Asset Funding policy.
• Undertake professional engineering work under supervision.
• Calculate development loadings and developer charges.
• Prepare, review, approve and issue Notices of Requirements for Development Assessments.
• Prepare, review, approve and issue Section 50 compliance certificates.
• Identify contributions for existing network assets and coordinate payments.
• Liaise with stakeholders on development opportunities.
• Maintain knowledge of regulatory, environmental and technical changes.
